A Greenonomics publicou uma lista do que, segundo a página, comunidades sustentáveis fazem de diferente, e coloca a energia comunitária no topo: ela manteria mais investimento dentro da economia local, com exemplos nos Países Baixos.
O retrato numérico desse modelo está na Lokale Energie Monitor 2025, divulgada pela Energie Samen em 23 de março de 2026: 696 cooperativas locais fornecem eletricidade para meio milhão de domicílios, com cerca de 143 mil associados e mais de 9 mil voluntários.
O mesmo levantamento mostra onde o modelo perde tração. Em 2025 foram realizados 66 novos projetos solares, menos que nos anos anteriores, e nenhum novo projeto eólico cooperativo entrou. O monitor atribui isso a preços negativos de eletricidade, custos operacionais mais altos, receita de subsídio insuficiente e gargalos de conexão.
A tese de valor local se sustenta nos números de adesão. O que limita a expansão é a receita, e o monitor projeta 45,2 MW de nova capacidade eólica cooperativa nos próximos dois a três anos, volume que dirá se o modelo volta a crescer.

Greenonomics published a list of what, in its view, sustainable communities do differently, and puts community energy at the top: it would keep more investment inside the local economy, with examples from the Netherlands.
The numbers behind that model are in the Lokale Energie Monitor 2025, released by Energie Samen on 23 March 2026: 696 local cooperatives supply electricity to half a million households, with around 143,000 members and more than 9,000 volunteers.
The same survey shows where the model loses traction. In 2025, 66 new solar projects were completed, fewer than in previous years, and no new cooperative wind project came in. The monitor attributes this to negative electricity prices, higher operating costs, insufficient subsidy income and grid connection bottlenecks.
The local-value case holds up in the membership figures. What limits expansion is revenue, and the monitor projects 45.2 MW of new cooperative wind capacity over the next two to three years, the volume that will show whether the model resumes growth.
