Sungrow supplies 21 MW of PEM electrolysis to Poland

Europe's electrolyser market is now taking Chinese supply at scale. According to a post by Girija J, Sungrow Hydrogen will supply a 21 MW PEM system to Promet-Plast's project in Gaj Olawski, Poland, paired with 49.36 MW of solar and wind, an expected 1,700 tonnes of RFNBO hydrogen a year and start-up in 2027.

The concentration is global, not local. The IEA's Global Hydrogen Review 2026 records that installed electrolysis capacity doubled worldwide in 2025 to exceed 4 GW, with China behind nearly three quarters of the new installations that year.

For the European buyer, that means better price and lead time now and dependence on one supply hub later. Spare parts, stack replacement and technical support over ten years are where the equipment's origin weighs.

According to the post, the European Commission plans Made in Europe measures for state-subsidised projects, which changes how the next tenders are designed. Structuring a project now means contracting parts and long-term service alongside the equipment.
