Four Nordic hydrogen valleys in one pavilion
A standalone hydrogen project struggles to match supply and demand within the same territory. Four Nordic valleys, CONVEY, BalticSeaH2, H2 Valley Sweden and NORHyWAY, have built a joint pavilion at booth A12 of European Hydrogen Week in Brussels, 26 to 30 October.
The Clean Hydrogen Partnership's State of the Clean Hydrogen Valleys Sector 2026, dated 8 July 2026, counts 106 hydrogen valleys worldwide on the Hydrogen Valley Platform. The operational share rose from 9% in 2024 to 18% of the portfolio, 37% are at or beyond final investment decision, and European valleys account for around 400 MW of electrolysis in operation.
400 MW operating in Europe is modest against the announcements, and that is where the valley format counts: it ties production, transport and end use into one perimeter, reducing exposure to a single buyer. The report names demand creation, financing and regulatory certainty as critical to reaching final investment decision.
Doubling the operational share in two years is measured progress, not a promise. The joint pavilion delivers value if what comes out of it is offtake between valleys.
