Zero Grid advances with Fio B at 60% in 2026, and on-site load sets the return

Canal Solar reports, on 4/11/2026, that limits on grid connection and on exporting surplus power are pushing companies and rural producers to Zero Grid, in which the control system curtails generation so as not to inject energy into the grid. According to a TTS Energia survey with ANEEL data, from January to October 2026 these segments connected 1.4 GW of self-generation, 46.2% less than in 2025, with about R$ 6.5 billion invested.

Law No. 14,300/2022, in article 27, makes compensated energy pay a growing share of the distribution cost, the so-called Fio B: 60% in 2026, 75% in 2027 and 90% in 2028. Energy consumed at the moment it is generated does not go through compensation, and Zero Grid operates only that way.

The return comes from the avoided tariff, with no contract and no guaranteed term. It follows the utility's tariff adjustments and the consumer's own load curve. Curtailed generation does not become savings, so sizing to actual consumption, or with a battery, matters more than installed capacity.

Where the grid does not accept injection, Zero Grid unlocks the investment. The value stays tied to the load that exists on site.
